Ali B, Wilmslow: Sorting out my father’s paperwork.
“Sorting through paperwork is not on my list of favourite activities and when faced with having to sort and file a huge number of documents rescued from a flood in my father’s house understandably I kept putting it off! It did not help that amongst the papers were photos and mementos of my mother’s, who had passed away a few years ago. I contacted Silver Concierge to see if someone could help and was delighted with the response. Louise Barson came out to my house and together we went through everything. Louise was extremely efficient. Not only did she ensure everything was sorted and filed in a sensible way, she also gave great advice on how my father could follow up on some outstanding tax and pensions issues. Furthermore, Louise was very sympathetic when I found looking through some of the mementos a little bit too difficult to handle. Consequently, I have no hesitation in highly recommending Silver Concierge.
P.S. I have subsequently purchased a copy of Louise’s excellent personal organiser manual to get my own paperwork and household admin in order and I now have my life at my fingertips; saving me time and stress and giving me peace of mind that everything is to hand for my growing family. It’s very handy as I have to travel with my work quite a bit so I know if I get a phone call off my husband or my sons whilst I’m away with a question I can easily direct them to my copy of My Life Pack so they can deal with the household matters whilst I’m not there. It’s no longer always down to me.”
Fiona Jackson, Surrey ref a Cheshire property: help with probate, house refurbishment and decluttering
“I found Silver Concierge via the independent review site Free Index when I was looking for House refurbishment but saw that this business offered a wider range of services including decluttering and tradesmen. I was feeling desperate as I had no-one to help me with my late father’s bungalow in Sale after a pipe burst. Three rooms were very badly affected with ceilings down in the kitchen and dining rooms and damaged in the lounge, plaster had been removed down to the brickwork in all three rooms, the kitchen units and appliances were unsalvageable, the boiler had burst, the electrics had had water running through them. Plus carpeting and flooring had been ruined throughout the house. A huge project and the property had been affected more than I had initially realised. I live in Sutton, Surrey and knew that I would have very limited time available myself due to family commitments.
Using Silver Concierge made it easier to cope with the disposal of my parents’ effects and personal items (they are members of APDOuk) and handle the probate process in what had been our family home. Louise found the builders, sourced the kitchen and flooring and project managed the property from repair through to home staging and selling. The house was offered at its top valuation and received 2 offers from 3 viewings and sold for full value – helped by the level of finish and the home staging in a difficult housing market.
I was only able to make three site visits to the property during the project and using Silver Concierge services saved me time, money and stress. Â On a personal level Louise is superbly honest and assertive and knows when to be tactful, compassionate and friendly and she has an excellent network of tradesmen and professional contacts. If you need someone to be clear headed, well organised and focussed then choose Louise. I feel I have learned a lot from her and only wish we lived near each other because I would employ her to keep my own household in better shape!”
